World's Greatest Fresh Fruit Crisp

Serves 8

8 cups seasonal fresh fruit (apples, peaches, plums, pears, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, pineapple, mango, papaya etc.)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon orange juice
1/2 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
1 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
4 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
1/3 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter and sugar a 9 by 13 inch glass baking dish. In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients (except 2 tablespoons sugar) and zest and cut the butter into the mixture. When the mixture resembles oatmeal, add the pecans and set aside.

In a bowl, mix the fruit, 2 tablespoons sugar and lemon and orange juices. Add the fruit to the baking dish. Spoon the topping over the fruit. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 20 minutes or until the top is crisp and brown. Serve with frozen yogurt, ice cream or lightly sweetened whipped cream.
